The release of this series became part of the commemorative events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' first expedition to the shores of the new continent. Columbus went on that historic expedition in 1492. His flotilla consisted of three sailing ships named Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Three beer mug in this series are dedicated to each of these ships.
The Nina model, dedicated to one of the three ships of Christopher Columbus' first expedition. The central image shows the caravel "Niña" and figures of people dressed in late 15th-century clothing. On the sides, there are stylized ornaments and inscriptions indicating the series and date.
The Nina (Spanish: La Nina, "girl") is a Spanish caravel, one of the three ships on which Christopher Columbus set out on his first ocean expedition and discovered in 1492 America. The real name of Nigny is Santa Clara. The name "Ninya" is most likely derived from the name of its owners, the Nino brothers from Mogera.
