Anheuser-Busch #CS162 “1992 U.S. Olympic Winter Team”

Simon Peter Gerz - mold 162

From the collection of Paulo Vik Falcon

Stein Anheuser-Busch #CS162 “1992 U.S. Olympic Winter Team”.

This collector's beer mug with a tin lid was produced in 1992 in Germany by Gerz, commissioned by the American brewing company Anheuser-Busch, in honor of the United States Olympic team at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. The design was created by Marcy Wilson.

The mug features images of winter sports athletes (figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey, and bobsleigh) and the Olympic torch. The lower part of the mug's body features embossed icons representing various winter Olympic sports.
This model has the catalog number CS162. It was produced in limited quantities and often came with a certificate of authenticity (COA) and an original box. Source of information on the link: [link]

This mug was the first in a series of two mugs dedicated to the 1992 Olympic Games. The second mug in the series, with the #CS163, was created in honor of the USA Olympic team's participation in the 1992 Summer Olympics. Source of information on the link: [link]

It's worth noting that 1992 was the last year in the history of the Olympic Games when both the Winter and Summer Games were held in the same year. After 1992, the games were held every two years.
