A magnificent beer mug from the Marzi & Remy factory "Symbols of sports shooting". In the Marzi & Remy catalog, the mold of this mug has the number 2790. Mugs with this decoration design have been made since 1897. One of the most popular subjects was the shooting theme. There were a lot of tournaments where a wide range of awards was required. Custom mugs were issued as awards.
However, this mug turned out to be more targeted and personal. This is indicated by the inscriptions on the sides of the mug.
A German proverb is printed on the ribbon around the female character: "Sichres Aug und fest die Hand". Translated, it means "A faithful eye and a steady hand". This is a traditional wish for shooters, which is often found at such tournaments.
On the ribbon around the male image, it says in German: "Der Schütze in dem braucht Stand". Translated, it means "The shooter is in the right position."
This is part of a traditional proverb or motto that emphasizes the importance and status of the shooter in society.
