A video about this mug can be viewed at the link:
An old German shaped mug "Owl". Made at the Marzi & Remy manufactory in the period 1880-1890. The mold of this mug has the catalog number 922. See the link: [link]
The mold with this number is one of the earliest works of the Marzi & Remy manufactory. The surface of our mug is executed in the technique of fine lace relief. This made it possible to depict the bird's plumage with exquisite precision. The Marzi & Remy factory was founded in 1879, but received its license only on January 1, 1880.
The "owl" in German culture represented wisdom, hidden knowledge. Her image was used for objects that were presented as gifts to scientists, university professors, and researchers.
