Crystal

From the collection of Paulo Vik Falcon

The mug is made by casting glass into a mold under pressure. The absence of a mark indicating the size of the mug's capacity suggests that it was manufactured between 1870 and 1880. The mug's lid features a three-hinge lift mechanism. This indicates that the mug was produced no later than 1880.
The uniqueness of the mug lies in the fact that its tin lid is inlaid with a polished crystal of rock crystal. This is a labor-intensive and expensive process. As a result, the crystal insert was made to order. This may explain why there are no identifying inscriptions or engravings on the mug. After all, why would you want to ruin a masterpiece?
