Reinhold Hanke, “Tyrolean Entertainer”
Catalog No. 1133, Pottery relief, 0.5L, with a cast pewter lid.
The title of the scene on this stein “Schnadahï” has no direct English translation. The term refers to a merry extempore ditty of four short lines, the 2nd and 4th lines rhyming, sung in the Bavarian and Austrian mountain areas. It can also be applied to what might be best described as a musical roast, where the participants make up song verses aimed at the foibles of the target individual. -TBSL-
