Vintage ceramic beer mug with a tin lid from the German brewery Klosterbräu in Bamberg.
The mug was made in 1960 at the Wick-Werke factory.
The body depicts a monk with a mug of beer, which refers to the history of monastery brewing.
The inscriptions on the mug mean:
Klosterbräu is the name of the oldest brewery in Bamberg.
Bamberger Gold is a type of beer ("Gold of Bamberg").
Seit 1533 is the year the brewery was founded.
The Klosterbräu Bamberg brewery was founded in 1533 by the Prince-Bishop of Bamberg and was originally a monastery.
