You can watch a video about this mug at the following link: [link]
Beer mug in the form of "Owl". This 3D mug was made in 1901 by the famous factory Villeroy & Boch. The capacity of the mug is 0.5 liters, and the height of the mug is 20 cm. In the Villeroy & Boch product catalog, the mold of this mug has the number 2036.
On the front side of the mug, there is an inscription in German that reads "BIBITE".
In Germany, as in other countries, the owl is a symbol of knowledge (i.e., a wise old owl). "Bibite" means "to drink" and in this case seems to imply access to a source of knowledge, but it can also simply mean drinking beer from a mug.
The models of the Owl shaped mug were designed by Matthias Hein, a designer, by order of the Villeroy & Boch factory. He is one of the iconic designers of his time, among those who carried out orders for Villeroy & Boch. During his collaboration with the Villero & Boch factory in the period from 1885 to 1901, Hein developed about 30 unique models for it. Matthias Hein's favorite art style is Renaissance.
