The circle is known as the "Change of the Millennia". Although its original name "New Millenium". Nevertheless, the shape of the circle and its plot content speak in favor of the name "Change of the Millennia".
The uniqueness of this porcelain figurative mug is that it is made in the form of two fused sculptural human forms, personifying the passing and coming eras. On the one hand, this is a gray-haired elder in the image of a holy eyewitness of the passing millennium with a sad and very deep look. The date 1999, the last year of the outgoing millennium, is marked under the feet of the elder.
Behind the elder, the baby is literally hovering above the clouds like an angel. With his appearance and cheerful mood, he brings hope that humanity should live much happier in the new millennium than in the outgoing one. From below we see the number 2000 - the first year of the new millennium.
The mug was produced at Albert Stahl & Co. GmbH, one of the oldest German porcelain factories, in close partnership with the more modern Porzellanmanufacturer und Krugwerkstätte Thüringen (PKT). Their brand name is located on the side of the bottom. This mug was released in a limited edition of only 2 thousand copies. Moreover, each product was assigned a unique individual number. The mug is numbered 116. This significantly increases its collection value. As well as the fact that the maximum amount of manual labor was involved in its manufacture.
