I have worked with wood before but I don't recall ever making a face, I tried to copy this from a wooden Monk character stein that sold in the Fox auction 12/17/2023. The wooden body came out nice but the face could have been better but this is how it's going to stay. I painted the hands, face, gray hair, buttons and base coat for the ruff collar, all the easy stuff. My wife painted the eyes, mouth and touched up the facial colors and antiqued the collar, stuff I could never do. The hair is gray but looks blueish in some of the pictures, it's 9" tall and would hold 1/2L. The last picture is what I tried to copy from.
