Two small repairs made by the base in the front and back. A reminder that these beautiful steins were not just for display, but to drink beer from and enjoy them.

Beautiful original lid with nice patina, lid is darker than picture, but light helps show the details better.

Distinctive M&W Gr. 1/2L and calibration marks incised on side.

Another repair by base; stein is otherwise in great condition.

Very clean inside

No mark underneath lid.

“MW Gr. “ roundel and letter “X” used 1879 to 1921

An unusual “MERKELBACH & WICK GRENZHAUSEN” that I suspect is ink stamped, not impressed. ?? The MW Gr. Is definitely an impressed roundel, as is the “X”.
