Dumler & Breiden made stein 1883-1992, this 1/2L stein #212 is about 9-3/4" high. This was a special order souvenir stein modified for the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair or Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Replacing most of the left side of the original surrounding image with a scene dated 1904 depicting the Tyrolerdorf (Tyrolean village) from the Fair’s Tyrolean Alps concession. No makers mark or Germany, but it was required for all exports in 1887 onward to have Germany or Made in Germany on them. It was probably made 1900-1903 but not marked Germany. D&B also made 7 different souvenir steins for the 1904 Worlds fair.

(Haberfeldtreiben is ancient custom, but there is drinking as well. We are happy since Habern is going on.”
The German term “Haberfeldtreiben” (literally, “driven to the oat field”) has no English equivalent. It refers to a form of local justice practiced in Bavaria through the early 18th century wherein villagers would chase undesirables out of town, often wrapped in goat skins.
