Merkelback & Wick made steins 1872-1921, this "Shields with Barley and Sayings" stein is about 7-1/4" to the top of the lid. It has a 1/2L capacity mark, M&W logo and mold #758B under the handle, but no Germany. In 1887 it was required to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. This stein may have been made 1872-1886.
