10. Komp. 1 Bad. Leib Gren. Regt. Nr. 109. Karlsruhe. 1904-06
10th Company 1st Baden Lieb-Grenadier Regiment Number 109

(The 1st Baden Leib-Grenadier Regiment Number 109 was activated on 23 March 1803. By 1847 the regiment consisted of three battalions each with four companies. In 1871 the unit was integrated into the Prussian Army until the end of WWI when it was disbanded.)

The bands of red and yellow around the top and base band are the colors of the Grand Duchy of Baden.

As reservists and militiamen
We lay the work down again
And follow the flag faithfully.

Noch einmal müssen Stram wir üben
Dann aufs Paradefeld hinaus
Zuletzt am Bivouakfeuer liegen
Und dann geht’s heim ins Vaterhauslati

We practice hard once more
Then out onto the parade field
Finally lying by the bivouac fire
And then we go home to father’s house
