From old Marzi & Remy catalog

Mold 940 is quite a rare find. It was produced by Marzi & Remy in around 1880~1910. A very collectible stein!

The phrase on the stein reads 'ES ist besser mit Affen mit Kater und Bären als allzeit mit Ochsen und Eseln verkehren". (Freely translates as "A hangover is always better than pain from working too hard")

Total height including the ceramic inlaid lid is 21 centimeter.
