Der Sonntagsjäger

Dümler & Breiden - mold 1202

From the collection of Paul Van Eck

a happy bunny

base markings

"Der Sonntagsjäger" is the name of this terra sigillata stein by Dümler & Breiden.
It depicts a rabbit fleeing from a not-so-dangerous-looking hunter and his dog. The hunter has got the dog on a leash, and he shoots his gun in the air, not pointing at the rabbit at all. He's clearly more interested in his Sunday walk.. The rabbit has nothing to be afraid of, and he knows it..
