Designed by Paul Wynand for Reinhold Merkelbach, circa 1912.
According to the book "braun geflammt und grau gesaltzen", J.Schimanski 2011, p.117, this model was originally designed for a specific customer of Reinhold Merkelbach (Krumeich's Konservenfabrik) and it bore the mold number 7002. When the model was added to the normal sales catalog in01922 it was re-numbered 3248.
This model and some other sizes of this model have been in production until well after WW2, possibly even into the late sixties.
