"The surprise " lithograph 1887 by carl Schlesinger Jr. The bad trumpeter is a true forbidden love story of Franz Werner Kirschner from säckingen ( Germany ) . There is an opera as on the story a book by Jo's victor von Schaeffer who is from säckingen as well , also a statue of the trumpeter and bust of scheffel ( legs and arms melted for war purposes ) are memorialized in the city of säckingen today .
