Durlacher Faience Reproduction

From the collection of Andrew Ives

Tin-oxide glazed earthenware birnkrug (pear jug). Holds approximately 1.4 liters.
Designed and decorated in the style of faience from the town of Durlach, Germany.
Rough translation: "Pass round the tankard and drain it with glee, long live the stag's call! Three cheers, hurrah!"
The pewter mark on the underside of the lid is currently unidentified.

According to an internet image search, the mark on the base, although the factory remains unidentified, is a consistent indicator for these specific types of vintage German pottery. The pieces are believed to have been manufactured in the 1970's to 1980's, or a little earlier.
