Sitzendorfer Porzellanmanufaktur "Hunting motifs: wild boar"

Sitzendorfer Porzellanmanufaktur

From the collection of Paulo Vik Falcon

Souvenir beer mug "A boar in an oak grove eats acorns".

The beer mug with the image of a wild boar was made at the Sitzendorfer Porzellanmanufaktur GmbH factory as part of the thematic series "Hunting Motifs" (from the German Jagdmotiv). In addition to the wild boar, moose, capercaillie, roe deer, hare and other game beloved by hunters are also found on the medallion of beer mugs in this series.
The beer mug decoration was designed for wild boar hunting enthusiasts.
The mug was made by the famous German manufactory Sitzendorf (Sitzendorf, Thuringia) in the period from 1954 to the 1975. The central medallion is decorated with an image of a wild boar (boar) in the forest. The sides of the mug are decorated with embossed oak leaves and acorns, which is a classic hunting motif.
