Collectible beer mug from the "Fairy Tales" series (Märchenserie), produced by the famous German manufactory Villeroy & Boch (Mettlach). It was made approximately in 1980-1985. The volume of the mug is 0.5 liters. Height 23 cm. The mug's body depicts a detailed and colorful scene from the brothers' fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel". "Hansel and Gretel" is a famous German fairy tale by the brothers Grimm about a brother and sister who get lost in the forest and are trapped by a cannibal witch. Because of hunger, the stepmother convinces the father to leave the children in the thicket. The first time Hansel finds his way home on white pebbles, but the second time the birds pick up the bread crumbs, and the children get lost. Wandering, the children find a house of bread and sweets, in which an evil witch lives. The witch locks Hansel up to fatten and eat him, but resourceful Gretel tricks her and pushes her into the oven. The children return to their father with the witch's treasures. It was released in a limited edition of 10,000 copies. This mug has an individual number 1150. There are no other instances with this number.
