There is an inscription on the mug. Translated from German, it means: "Let it rain, the wind blows fresh and clean, and those who sit back will rust." The text is taken from the first line of the poem (Lied der Franken), written in 1859 by Joseph Victor von Scheffel and set to music in 1870 by Valentin Eduard Becker.
