Stein Villeroy & Boch #2531 "Minstrel Drinking".
An antique 0.5 liter beer mug was made in 1898 at the famous Villeroy & Boch factory. In the product catalog of the Villeroy & Boch factory, the mold of this mug has the number 2531. It is called "Minstrel Drinking".
The drawing of the mug is executed in the technique of ceramic engraving. The author of the drawing is considered to be the artist Fritz Quidenus.
There is an inscription on the mug. Translated from German, it means: "Let it rain, the wind blows fresh and clean, and those who sit back will rust." The text is taken from the first line of the poem (Lied der Franken), written in 1859 by Joseph Victor von Scheffel and set to music in 1870 by Valentin Eduard Becker.
