A lovely wireglass 'stein' with a metal lid, probably dating to circa 1910~1930. It has some 'art deco' characteristics.
The glass is so-called Fries wireglass, where Fries translates as Frisian. Friesland is a province of the Netherlands. However, it is not sure if this glass was actually made in Friesland at all. Some believe such glass comes from France, others say it is English. I guess nobody knows for sure yet. Often this type of glass is also referred to as 'ribbed' glass.
