Germany, Bavaria, Middle Franconia, Nürnberg, Souvenir Stein cream- glazed stoneware with multi-colour tranferprint with three green framed medallions, depicting the city with the famous castle and tower in the center. The clouds highlighted by hand painted details in white enamel paint. Below the word "Nürnberg" in black.
On the right hand the coat of arms of Nürnberg in the version before 1936, the so called virgin-eagle (Jungfrauenadler), a golden Harpie with bare breasts on blue background.
On the left side a very uncommon version of the coat of arms of Bavaria: A crowned, standing, two-tailed, golden lion with the blue and white Bavarian diamond shield in the back. 1/2 L capacity mark on side, no marker's mark, but capacity mark is like "MR09" according to the library on beerstein.net [link] .
Tarnished pewter lid with ornamental lines and circles, club-like thumb-lift and five-pin open hinge.
