The mug was made by King-Werk.
King-Werk is also known as Würfel & Müller G.m.b.H. & Co. K.G.
It has been producing ceramic souvenirs since 1949. The company is considered the legal successor to the famous Albert Jacob Thewalt Manufactory. The rights to produce mugs based on Thewalt's designs were acquired in 2011. King-Werk produces these mugs using traditional methods and materials in a limited edition of 2,500 pieces.
On the back of the mug, behind the handle, there is an inscription in German: "Ja so waren die alten Ritters-Leut." Translated, this means: "Yes, this is how the ancient knights-men were."
