This antique mug in the style of historicism was made by the Merkelbach manufactory. & Wick. There is no form number mark on the mug. However, it is known that in the official Merkelbach catalog & Wick is located at number 303.
The plot of the drawing is devoted to a religious theme. The circle depicts twelve apostles, two in each window. The circle is called "The Twelve Apostles."
Merkelbach Factory & Wick was founded in 1872 by Friedrich Wilhelm Merkelbach II (born in 1840, died in 1896) and the sculptor-designer (Johann) Georg Peter Wick (born in 1837, died in 1914).
The mug was created before 1875. This is indicated by the absence of a capacity label and the lever for lifting the lid, which is made using a three-hinge joint.
