Brauerei Bischofshof Regensburg - Maßkrug

Brauerei Bischofshof Regensburg - Maßkrug

I don’t recall if I ever tasted a beer from the Brauerei Bischofshof, but, the odds are pretty high I did. Living so close to this beautiful city “Regensburg”, Dawn and I often took day trips here. We especially enjoyed the open markets, beautiful architecture, and much more. We were lucky to live so close.

As for this stoneware beer mug “ Maßkrug”, it has a nice, saltglaze color, with the typical blue colored design and lettering of the brewery’s name and city. I’m ok simply dating these Post WW2 modern era, roughly, late 1940s to 1989, prior to Post Cold War.

The 1L capacity and calibration marks are on the side. This one very likely had a lid at one time — notice the two holes atop the handle. There is a chip on the rim but does not affect drinking from it or its presentation. It still is as solid and functional as it was many years back.
