Jandelsbrunner “Joseph Lang” - Maßkrug
The Josef Lang Private Brewery (also Jandelsbrunner ) is a brewery in Jandelsbrunn , a municipality in the Freyung-Grafenau district of Lower Bavaria .
The brewery was actually founded in 1708, but was acquired by master brewer Joseph Lang in 1810 (year on mug) and has been in t(e family ever since. Their story is like other smaller Privat German breweries, filled with vision, hardships, challenges, courage, innovation, tradition, and perseverance. I really have a lot of respect for these smaller private breweries like Jandelsbrunner who 215 years since their founding are still going strong.
Prost to small privat brauereis — ones that closed and those still making beer today.
As for the mug itself, I’m estimating its c. 1970s - 1980s, more generally, modern Post World War Two.
