Brauhaus Dinkelsbühl / Gehring Hohenberger - Maßkrug
A smooth salt-glazed 1L stoneware beer mug, likely dating from the 1970s or 1980s. Features a side-mounted capacity mark with a fishhook “L” and simple calibration line. The blue transfer-decal reads “Brauhaus Dinkelsbühl / Gehring Hohenberger,” referencing a likely now-defunct brewpub or brewery in the Bavarian town of Dinkelsbühl? The mug is a good example of tourist-oriented or regional brewery glassware from post-war West Germany.
Side note. This was another very close to home town we frequently spent the weekends at, always keeping my eyes open for a stein or two… at their floh-Markt. Love this town!
As always, I welcome and appreciate your feedback.
