Brewing Beer - Stoneware Masskrug/Maßkrug
1L and calibration marks incised top front, but off-set slightly to the left as you view it.
I like this simple, but cool beer brewing design. Lid has very nice patina.
Looks like an elf, maybe?? Ha ha
Perhaps original owner’s name or surname?

Nice westerwald Stoneware Masskrug/Maßkrug.

“URALTER BIERKRUG MA?KRUG BIER BRAUEREI 1 Liter mit DECKEL u. BRAUKESSEL ca. 1900”
The Maßkrug has the potter’s turn lines on the exterior, clearly visible. No turn lines are ever the same, making each stein a one of a kind. These were truly real beer drinking steins, used daily; the stoneware 1L Maßkrug.
The incised 1L mark and calibration mark are located on top/front of stein, but are off-set slightly to the left as you view it.
Open 5 Ring Hinge.
Thumblift fits the time period.
The pewter lid is heavy with nice design and patina, of an elf brewing a batch of beer???
