I just received this porcelain Hauber & Reuther stein #244 "Scrollwork with saying". I also have two other H&R #244 stoneware steins, one made in the Freising factory by H&R and one made by Merkelbach & Wick for H&R. I believe some stein bodies from M&W were enhanced and the lids installed in the Freising factory and sold as H&R products. Here is a comparison of the three I own and some others.
