1984 Oktoberfest Wiesn Wirte U Bahnhof

Rastal Werk

From the collection of Walter Swett

1/2 Liter Souvenir mug sponsored by the Wies‘n Wirte for the dedication of the Wies‘n U Bahnhof Station, Munich in 1984. The script along the bottom band translates to: „In remembrance of the dedication of the Oktoberfest train station, March 3, 1984 your Oktoberfest Beer Tent Hosts“

The 1/2 liter „FS“ capacity mark in a rhombus is the mark of the firm F.K. Ströder & Sohn, Krug und Steinzeugfabrik, Rheinstrasse 14, Mogendorf/westerwald that was a subcontractor for Rastal and produced the early Oktoberfest Jahreskrüge (Annual Commemorative Stein) blanks for Rastal (Source: Swett, Walter. Prosit, March 2024, The FS Mark on The Oktoberfest Jahreskrüge. Pg 32).

The stein was designed by Günter Vikary and 5,000 were produced by Rastal. The proceeds from the sale were donated to the Verein Münchner Oktoberfestmusem (The Oktoberfest Museum Association). (Source: Mück, Walter. Oktoberfest-Krüge, 1976-1990, Fischbachau 1991. pg 143).
