White line at bottom of picture is lighting.

You can see the potter’s lines, again, making it unique and adding to its character!

Nice acorn thumb-lift and 2” ring around base

Beautiful potter’s lines or swirls inside stein.

Open 3 ring hinge.

2” metal ring still protects this beautiful masskrug

No capacity or calibration marks. Appears to be a 1 L. Maß nonetheless.

Beautiful woman painted on the porcelain inlay with artistically designed pewter lid. The base has a solid pewter 2” ring.

c. 1880s

Note: Previous owner from Northern Bavaria had this stein in family for many years dates it to 1880s. He is also the one who called it a “Keferloher”, quite appropriately I believe. No marks.

What is a Keferloher? As is often the case with historical information, the more you learn, the more you want to dig for deeper understanding and meaning.
