Heavy ornate lid and thumb lift.
Unusual/rare heavy closed 3 ring hinge with limited use estimated between c1870 and early 1880's.
Top of lid is personalized "AB".
The inscription on the lid rim reads: "For 15th birthday from Böttcheim. A. Bessler 1881"
