I think there’s a good chance this stein was specially made for someone from Bludenz, Austria, and his dog that looks so real, is on the top of the lid. Just a guess ?

Brauerei steinkrug from Fohrenburg Brewery - Ferdinand Gassner & Comp., Bludenz / Vorarlberg, Austria, 10/20 L. calibrated, impressive pewter lid, depiction of a running dog, magnificent thumb press with lion as a heraldic animal.
Age: Before First World War.
This is an old Austrian steinkrug in well preserved condition.
