Dumler & Breiden made steins 1883-1992, this "art nouveau Spiral Design" 1/2L stein is about 5" tall. The base has mold #1214, but no makers mark or Germany. It was required to have Germany or Made in German on all exports. This stein may have been made 1880-1930.
art nouveau style started in the 1880's, ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. art nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line and was employed most often in architecture, interior design, jewelry and glass design, posters, and illustration.
