Ceramarte Ltd, Santa Catarina, Brazil started making steins 1956-today. This original Bud Man "Dauntless Defender of Quality" first appeared in 1969 advertisements. This CS1 "Collector Series 1" stein is about 8" tall, no capacity mark or mold number. It was first issued in 1975 and some collectors say they can be divided into 13 different versions. They either had a hollow or solid head. Some had a bow tie with a knot some had a bow tie with the knot and others didn't have a bow tie at all. There were three different thumb used, only a few had a registered trade mark " circle with an R inside" and different color variations, I saw one that was all white.
