Reinhold Merkelbach re-used some mold numbers on other products. That explains why you can find the same mold number on different models. The first use of mold number 429 was a late 19th century mold for a pitcher. The same mold number was obviously used at a later moment (early 20th century) for the mold of the beer stein. One can assume that the old mold (the pitcher) was no longer in production by the time the mold number was re-used.
