Reinhold Merkelbach made beer steins 1882-2007, this Character Herring stein is about 8-1/2" tall. There isn't a capacity mark just Goebel Merkelbach-Handarbeit W.-Germany on the base. This is a modern reproduction of the original R. Merkelbach #1152. It was also reproduced by A.J.Thewalt circa 1990, as model #1296.
