Reinhold Merkelbach made beer steins 1882-2007, this art nouveau Stag #2138 is about 4-1/2" tall design attributed to Albin Muller. It has R.MERKELBACH GRENZHAUSEN a D and #2138, but no Germany or capacity mark. According to Stein Marks this was made 1903-1936.
