.5 Liter brewery stein from the Hofbräuhaus, München designed by Franz Ringer with his monogram „FR“.

The pewter lid has a 3 pin hinge and a view of the Hofbräuhaus. Inside is a personal engraving „Prosit Hans! 23 V. 08“ (Cheers Hans! 23 May 1908)

This stein and lid can be found in the book „Historische Bierkrüge Münchner Brauereien“, on pg. 65, Image 264 and pg. 67, image 282.

Dear Walter,
Congratulations, what a beautiful stein, but as it is a German Stein, and aGerman name engraved, I would suggest to read the date the german way (the other way round): 23rd of May, 1908.
Sorry for making the stein 15 years older, but in my opinion it is pre- war
