BODIES BY FREISING DECOR BY SAELTZER
August Saeltzer, 1820-1880, operated a small earthenware factory and decorated steinzeug purchased from various factories. One of those factories was the Freising factory which provided blanks to Saeltzer between 1876 and 1882. The Saeltzer factory/workshop was in operation from 1858 to 1930 under several proprietors. It has a large music box base with four holes to hold a music box. This one was hand painted by the Saeltzer workshop and returned to the Freising factory for sale. This does not have a Saeltzer mark on the base. The last two pictures are of another variation of the mold number 208. Most of this info was from John McGregor's Freising and H&R site.
