Made by Merkelbach & Wick 1872-1921 no mold number on the bottom, it's on the stein body under the handle (445A). It's about 5-3/4" to the top of the pewter lid. It has scrollwork with two griffins and a saying.
Möge Dir nie der Durst ver Sagen Werd ich poss Dir zu getragen.
May your thirst never fail you, I'll be carried to you? Not sure of the last part.
There are initials engraved into the pewter lid AS May 8th 1897. Under the lid is a small round M&W mark.
