Early Freising factory, pre-Hauber & Reuther, narrow-bodied character stein. Made by Schön & Borho between January 1,1876 & Sept 1,1876. They were the only manufacture that used a large 10mm size mold number. The "L" in the capacity mark does not have a serif (horizontal top line) until 1882 when it became Hauber & Ruther. Designed by Maximilian Borho. It's about 7-1/2" tall. Many of the early character steins did not have a thumblift. This #50 monk body has been seen with different heads.
