This is based on characters created by Shakespeare and specifically from a painting by Eduard von Grützner (1846-1925). This painting is a common subject for stein decoration. Many makers used it. Dumler and Breiden also used it for molds 565, 571, and 794. All in high relief. This has a heavily recessed base.
