The lid relief, entitled Hochzeiter (Bridegroom), is the first in a series of ten depicting 15th century Moriskentänzer (Morris dancers). Created in 1480 by Erasmus Grasser, the original wood sculptures are currently housed in the collection of the City Museum of Munich. (Beer Stein Library)
