Germany, Bavaria, Munich; Brewery stein HB Hofbrauhaus Munchen, salt-glazed stoneware HB logo and crown in cobalt-blue hand painted, rather square type with 10.0 cm diameter and 10.5 cm height. 1/2 L capacity mark on side, bottom metal-sheet stamped "M&W,Gr" for Merkelbach and Wick, Grenzhausen, and a "X" twice.
Domed pewter lid, with HB logo and crown, surrounded by "Kgl. Hofbräuhaus München." Number 396 engraved, flag-type thumb-lift, five-pin open hinge, no cast mark.
