This bowl was designed by Paul Wynand and has been produced by Reinhold Merkelbach and also by Simon Peter Gerz I. The jug was also marketed for a short period of time through the sales consortium Steinzeugwerke.
The bowl came in several sizes:
model 1446a: 7 liter (28.5 centimeters tall including the lid)
model 1446b: 5 liter
model 1446c: 3.5 liter (21,5 centimeters tall including the lid)
model 1446: 3.0 liter (20.5 centimeters tall including the lid)
The bowl came with a set of cups in the same design, also marked model 1446. The cups measure 7.6 centimeters.
