Westerwald hexagonal jug

From the collection of J JAW

Jug with a hexagonal body bearing incised natural form decoration. Salt-glazed westerwald stoneware.
Dating from the first half of the 19th century (c.1840s).

With pewter lid from c.1870s, which is smoothed and with somewhat worn hinge lugs from frequent use (so the first one may well have been worn out).
