Silver lidded V&B mement'o stein

This 0.5lt Villeroy and Boch stein has a silver (0.800) lid with a thank you inscription from the Eppendorf Hospital in Hambourg to a Dr.C.Manchot 23/12/1893. The front of the creamware body carries an embossed Hambourg crest.

Additional info. on Dr. C. Manchot, in 1889 he wrote a thesis "The Cutaneous Arteries of the Human Body" which is still available today, as book or by chapter.
In 1892 at the hight of a Cholera Epidemic in Hambourg he took up the post of Medical Resident at the Eppendorf Hospital
and was subsequantly given this stein.
